B's 6 Year Old Skylanders Party

We started the day off getting ready for Briley's birthday party.  We blew up balloons, set up all the games, and even made a Wrecking Ball pinata.
I couldn't believe how long the balloons kept the boys entertained that morning.

Photobucket Daddy learned how to decoupage. He's such a good daddy!
Photobucket The result! Photobucket When the boys arrived, they received a VIP Skylanders tag. They had games set up for each Skylanders level. Photobucket The first game was Zap's Target Shoot Out, B's favorite one. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Then we moved on to Double Trouble's Silly String Battle. It was the magic level, and the best thing I could think of since I'm not a magician. It was funny how some of the boys had never seen silly string before. They had a blast with this one! Photobucket Photobucket Then we went inside to recharge with some pizza and drinks. Photobucket When we went back out, we did the balloon challenges. First they had to keep their balloons in the air the longest without touching them for the air level. Then they had a relay to sit and pop them the quickest for the undead level. Photobucket Photobucket Then it was cupcakes and ice cream for the fire level! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket The boys had so much fun. I love these! Their laughs were from some sort of pooting or burping comment that somebody had. Boys! Photobucket I have to say, it was fun doing the party with just the two of us. Instead of entertaining the parents, we got to play with the kids the whole time. Nick was awesome and such a huge help with everything. It was a great little party, and the boys have talked about it for days!

Waiting

Photobucket After having to postpone his party for a week, we had one excited little 6 year old on our hands. Not to mention that the party was at 5 PM! He had to wait all day!

So about 30 minutes before his party started, he grabbed his Skylanders VIP tags that all the friends got when the came to the party and sat on the front porch.  He sat just like this until the first little friend pulled up.  It makes a momma's heart happy to see her boy so excited :)

B Turns 6

I can hardly believe that this little guy is 6. It feels like yesterday when I first met him, and he stole my heart.  The past 6 years have been the best of my life and of our marriage. We have such a smart, outspoken, strong willed little man on our hands, and it has been so much fun watching him grow. For is birthday, we planned a small get together at home with his friends, so we celebrated with family the weekend before in Memphis. First we went to Mimi's, where she surprised him with a super cool Lego Ninjago cake. Photobucket Photobucket He got his dream Lego from GG..... the Witch Doctor, his first 10 and up Lego. Photobucket I love his face when he was opening it! Photobucket He finished it in no time when we got home. Photobucket Next we went to Mamaw and Papaw's house. They had a birthday celebration that night, but I missed it b/c of pictures. Daddy was there, but I don't think he took any. We did get a bunch of him loving on his new cousin Halle. Photobucket Then we went home for the boys' last week of school. On Friday, the day before his bday and party, we had a playdate scheduled with Mrs. Lisa at Chickfila. B woke up with a tummy ache and headache, and by lunch time was looking like this. Photobucket Lawson ended up going home with Mrs. Lisa so that I could take B to the doctor. He ended up having strep throat and spent the rest of the day looking like this: Photobucket He still had a fever on his birthday, so we had to reschedule his party. He was bummed, but we had lots of presents to keep his mind off of it. Photobucket Photobucket This boy loves Legos! I'm amazed at how quickly he builds them all. Photobucket Always a little helper around Photobucket That afternoon we took the boys to the Lego store and to see Ice Age 3. I think it made up for a lack of party, and he had a great day. Saying Goodbye to Mrs. Lisa

It was sad seeing Briley leave preschool the last time, but it was hard leaving Mrs. Lisa. She has been Lawson's teacher for 2 years. She went through the kicky, screaming, biting Lawson for months and still loved him. She also helped him say good-bye to Mommy without crying and helped him learn that Mommy would come back and get him. He has loved school ever since and we have all loved Mrs. Lisa.

Photobucket This summer Lawson moved to Briley's preschool and has gone back to crying when I drop him off. He cries for Mrs. Lisa :( So last week we scheduled a playdate with her at Chickfila. Briley ended up sick, so Lawson got to go home with Mrs. Lisa for a few hours while I took B to the doctor. That's how fabulous she is and it make Lawson so very happy. We are going to miss her tons next year.

Last Day of Preschool

This is how far behind I am...  This is from B's last day of school.  Although he is excited about Kindergarten, he is so sad to be leaving the Bullfrogs room.  He made some really great friends this year, and they are all going to different schools next year.  For their party, they made their own pizzas.

Love Destin

My very favorite part about going to Destin is driving over the Destin harbor bridge, especially in the morning. The water is absolutely amazing. It looks like you are in the Caribbean instead of Florida. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Beach Pictures

Ok, I am wayyyyy behind on blogging. I knew I'd be hearing from one of the grandparents soon, and sure enough I got an email this morning. So here's the last beach post. This years beach pictures felt like a disaster. Lawson was cranky, moody, and down-right angry about taking pictures. However, Briley was trying to earn a toy (yep, I bribed) and was as cooperative as could be. He even took some great pictures of Nick and me. When I got home, I was surprised about how many good ones we got.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket This is what he looked like almost every time the camera was pointed to him. Photobucket This is what these 2 boys look like most of the time. Photobucket Now I just need to pick out two for the huge empty frames in my living room...

Destin: Day 7

Our last day in Destin was full of beach time. Lawson was feeling better, and we were ready to take advantage of the gorgeous day. The weather was amazing all week long. Low-mid 80's and cool at night and not a drop of rain. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Notice those hands. Both boys spread their fingers out the whole time they're in the sand. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
We took our beach pictures that night. Pictures coming soon.
