Farm Day at Preschool

I have never seen a child more excited for Farm Day at preschool. Lawson talked about it all week! He can't wear his cowboy boots on regular school days so he was SO excited to wear his boots, and he thought his overalls were hysterical! He talked all about seeing chickens and eggs and milking a cow :) Photobucket

Soccer Season U7

I CANNOT believe that Briley is in the U7 division this year.  It just sounds WAY too old.  He is becoming extremely competitive, and it is so much fun watching him grow athletically.  Nick is coaching for the first time this year, and it is AWESOME!  He is really enjoying it, Briley is loving it, and I think the boys on the team love him too.  I absolutely love watching him with the team.  He is so great with them.  I'm thinking he'll be coaching much more often after this :) Photobucket Photobucket Bossy britches Photobucket B's biggest fan Photobucket Haha! Goodbye Thumb

If I had known that this was going to work, I mean REALLY work, I would have taken more pictures.  Needless to say it did, and I didn't - so this is all of the evidence/memories that we have of Lawson quitting the habit that he's had since he was in my tummy.  (Yes, he was sucking his thumb in his ultrasound picture.)

Photobucket We've been talking and talking about his "Magic Thumb Potion", and how when it came in we'd put it on his thumb, and he'd quit sucking his thumb.  Then we told him that when he quit sucking his thumb for a week, that he'd get a new toy.  He could pick out anything that he wanted.  He decided that he wanted cars for the iPad and a spider HexBug.

Well, the Magic Potion (Mavala Stop) came in on a Saturday, and we put it on that Sunday.  A few hours later he had his first taste when he put his thumb in his mouth.  He cried and spit, and I cried a little too.  I felt so bad, but I KNEW it had to be done.  He ended up taking a nap that day and woke up a few hours later screaming and spitting.  He had obviously tasted the thumb again.  After that, I did not see his thumb go near his mouth.  We put the potion on 1 more time a few days later, and not even a motion towards his mouth with his thumb.  It is absolutely AMAZING how quickly he lost the habit of doing it.  We are all so very proud of him!  Saturday, he got to go to Target and he ended up picking out 2 new HexBugs.  He's as happy as can be, and that thumb is finally starting to look normal.  Yay Lawson!!!

Soccer Season Has Begun

Fall soccer started a few weeks ago.  Nick is coaching B's team, and I have never seen Briley so excited for soccer practice and games.  He is LOVING it, and I and LOVING watching them.  He got mad at me for taking pictures when he was practicing the other day, and then I showed him this one.  He thought it was pretty cool, so he had to show off after that :)  Their first game was on Saturday and they won!  It was pretty exciting since we came from a season in the spring where we only won 1 game.
