If I had known that this was going to work, I mean REALLY work, I would have taken more pictures. Needless to say it did, and I didn't - so this is all of the evidence/memories that we have of Lawson quitting the habit that he's had since he was in my tummy. (Yes, he was sucking his thumb in his ultrasound picture.)

We've been talking and talking about his "Magic Thumb Potion", and how when it came in we'd put it on his thumb, and he'd quit sucking his thumb. Then we told him that when he quit sucking his thumb for a week, that he'd get a new toy. He could pick out anything that he wanted. He decided that he wanted cars for the iPad and a spider HexBug.
Well, the Magic Potion (Mavala Stop) came in on a Saturday, and we put it on that Sunday. A few hours later he had his first taste when he put his thumb in his mouth. He cried and spit, and I cried a little too. I felt so bad, but I KNEW it had to be done. He ended up taking a nap that day and woke up a few hours later screaming and spitting. He had obviously tasted the thumb again. After that, I did not see his thumb go near his mouth. We put the potion on 1 more time a few days later, and not even a motion towards his mouth with his thumb. It is absolutely AMAZING how quickly he lost the habit of doing it. We are all so very proud of him! Saturday, he got to go to Target and he ended up picking out 2 new HexBugs. He's as happy as can be, and that thumb is finally starting to look normal. Yay Lawson!!!
