Pumpkin Patch

A few weeks ago, my mom's group had a playdate at a pumpkin patch/farm. The boys and I went, but we were really late. So we had a mommy/boy date instead of a playdate. Pumpkin patches in Nashville are awesome. In Memphis we'd go to one in someone's backyard, literally. In Nashville, they are on farms nestled in the beautiful hills. When the leaves are changing, the views are amazing. I love the drive to get there.

This one was set up like a little town. There was a lot to take in.

I loved how the pumpkins that you picked were still attached to the vines.

It's a good thing we lost the group because it took us an hour just to pick the perfect pumpkins

There were a million other things to do, from a pumpkin cannon to a train ride, hay maze, corn crib, tunnel slides, and animals.

Poor B, he loved pushing the carousel, but when it was his turn to ride, no one would push :(

Oh, and Lawson... if you know the poor child, he is the slowest thing ever. He's tiny and his legs are tinier, and they just don't go fast. But when we got into the hay maze, he took off like lightening. When the paths started winding, it scared B and me. We both took after him and worked together to find him. It was cute seeing Briley worry about Lawson getting lost.

We had a great time!

Pumpkin Time!

Last week, I had my mini sessions on Sunday afternoon. I came home to this...

Daddy and the boys were carving their first pumpkin of the season.

They love some pumpkin carving. And we love this guy.

Thanks for being the best daddy and husband in the whole wide world. We love you to infinity!

Farm Day

B had Farm Day at school last week. It was about 90 degrees, and I had no idea what he was going to wear. Then I remembered that we had a pair of overalls that one of his Mimi's friends gave us. They were a size too small and with his boots, ended up looking like overall capris, but he was excited!

The next day, Lawson thought it was so cool that he had to put on boots and a hat.

Nananananananana Batman!

Briley: Age 2.5 years - loved Batman, loved his Batman costumes and pj's. He'd go days in a row wearing those pj's and refusing to change them.

Riding "batboy"

He insisted on sleeping with the mask several times.

Lawson: Age 2.5 years - has just now discovered Batman, loves watching the cartoons, and loves his hand-me-down Batman pj's

The funny thing about having a second child that gets to wear hand-me-downs is that every now and again, I come across an outfit that reminds me of Briley. I'll put it on Lawson, and it looks so out of place. Like he's an imposter in his brother's clothes. These Batman pj's are one of them. He was so excited when I pulled them out, but when I put them on him, they just didn't look right. I'm getting used the them on him, but I still think I should see that bright yellow headed kid in them.

The Soccer Game for the History Books

Ok, so it's not a secret that we were questioning B's soccer abilities. I mean we've gone 2 seasons without seeing him score a goal. We went one season without even seeing him kick the ball. But we remind ourselves that we're not there to win, we're not even there to kick the ball, obviously, but we're there to learn teamwork and for fun.

So last Saturday's game started off the same as usual. We're late, kids are whining, you know, the usual. B asked if we could get ice cream, and we both said "Sure, if you score a goal, we'll get ice cream after the game."

Warning: lots of pictures of kids running after a ball.

B and his best soccer bud, Conner.

Game starts with us yelling to kick the ball, and Briley yelling back. He told us in the car that if we told him what to do, he'd quit. So here he is saying he'll leave the field if we say anything else.
Photobucket
Then we see a change. The kid starts going after the ball with determination.
Photobucket
He stayed after it constantly.
Photobucket
He scores!!! This is right after scoring his 2nd, yes 2nd!!!! goal. I missed the first one because I was cheering so loud.
Photobucket
Victory walk, recapping exactly how amazing he was.
Photobucket
A bigger smile after scoring goal # THREE.
Photobucket
Bragging to everyone on the side how he was so speedy quick that no one could see him and that's why he scored.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Ok, look at his face.
Photobucket
See the tongue. It comes out every time he concentrates hard. We're working on that b/c I'd really like to avoid a trip to the ER for biting his tongue in half.
Photobucket
I love Conner's victory dance.
Photobucket
Lawson eats and plays during the games. He was using me as a jungle gym this game, which was driving me crazy.
Photobucket
He's kind of cute though, so it's hard to get mad.
Photobucket

Oh my goodness, soccer man B! We are so very proud of you. Obviously, he was treated to ice cream, and we couldn't quit talking about it all weekend.
Photobucket

We Won, We Won!

I can not WAIT to tell you all about B's soccer game on Saturday!

It Takes a Few Bad Ones to Get a Good One

However, it's the bad ones that really show who they really are. It's pretty cool having a brother.

Speaking of Cute

I need to scan one of Nick's baby pictures. Lawson is his daddy all over, just with blonde hair.

Love those dirty piggies.
